Adam A5X and Adam A7X have similar construction. The housings are very solid and rugged. They are very durable and will certainly last. Both models also come with high-quality drivers constructed of carbon fiber, rohacell, and glass fiber. The drivers are robust and tenacious, ready for heavy-duty uses. However, Adam A5X is indeed quite noticeably smaller and lighter than Adam A7X. As the effect, Adam A5X can be a much better choice for small rooms. On the other hand, Adam A7X’s relatively bulky body is suitable for larger rooms and studio applications.
Adam A5X is more compact due to having a smaller low-frequency dome. Adam A5X features a 5.5” dome, whereas Adam A7X comes with a 7” low-frequency dome. Both models have the 2” X-ART high-frequency tweeters. On the front panel, there is the on/off switch and the gain control. The connection ports and other controls are on the rear panel. Adam A5X actually has a decent performance. With a frequency response range of 50 Hz – 50 kHz, the speaker can easily deliver excellent sound staging and imaging. The lows, mids, and highs are accurate and clean. The speaker can also deliver decent volume levels. However, coming with a larger woofer, Adam A7X offers much-improved bass performance. It has a frequency response range of 42 Hz – 50 kHz. The extended lower edge makes it able to deliver fuller, more accurate, and more detailed bass. It also has a slightly higher maximum SPL handling, allowing for exceptional audio reproduction at higher volume levels.

For entertainment purposes, Adam A5X is sufficient. It already has excellent audio quality. However, for recording, mixing, and monitoring purposes, you should choose Adam A7X. The bass performance is much more accurate and detailed.
