Both Blue Microphones Snowball and Blue Microphones Yeti supports the iPad via 30-pin besides using the USB port as their main connectivity. Both also have cardioid polar pattern and are both omnidirectional, which means, they are able to pick up sounds equally from any direction. However, the Yeti has more additional modes: bidirectional and stereo. In bidirectional mode, the Yeti record from the front and rear sides, so it is ideal for musical instruments or an interview session. In stereo mode, the mic uses the left and right channels to capture a realistic audio.

The Yeti also offers a higher recording resolution than the Snowball. You can get sharper and brighter sounds on the Yeti although the quality on the Snowball is also pretty good. You may also want to be notified that the Snowball users have experienced some volume problem whence it occasionally sounds too quiet. Blue apparently has fixed the problem on the Yeti, in which the issue is no longer exist.
