These two speakers look similar. They each have a brushed black polymer veneer cabinet, with an elegant bronze-colored woofer and a rectangular tweeter. On the rear, there is a vent port, so make sure to place the speaker far enough from the wall behind. The connection ports are also on the rear. Remember that these are passive speakers, so they require external amplifiers.
As the smaller one of the two, Klipsch R 14M features a smaller woofer. The woofer is made from copper-spun Injection Molded Graphite (IMG), designed for rigid frequency response and minimal distortion. The woofer measures 4 inches wide. On the top, there is a 1.0-inch 90×90 Tractrix Horn tweeter. This proprietary tweeter can give greater extension, enhanced imaging, and powerful dynamics for the cleanest and most natural sound. You can read the detailed specs from Klipsch here.
Klipsch R 15M features the same technologies, except that the woofer is larger. This model comes with a 5.25-inch woofer. The larger woofer can potentially give more powerful output with fuller, more accurate lows and mids.
Klipsch R 14M sounds good. In most cases, you won’t notice a significant difference in the sound quality. The frequency response range goes from 64 Hz to 24 kHz. However, this speaker is less powerful. It can only receive a maximum power of 50 Watts from the amp. It is suitable for small rooms.
Klipsch R 15M has slightly better sound quality, mainly because the bass can reach lower frequencies. The frequency response range goes from 62 Hz to 24 kHz. Nevertheless, the real reason to choose this speaker is the more powerful sound. It can receive a maximum power of 85 Watts from the amp. The higher power also allows the speaker to pronounce fine audio details better. It is suitable for larger rooms.
