Similar Connectivity
One thing is for sure. Both Mackie PROFX12 and Mackie PROFX12V2 are both 12-channel compact mixers with onboard effects. They each has 12 line inputs, consisting of 4 mono and 4 stereo pairs, and 6 mic inputs. All of the mic inputs are equipped with pre-amps and phantom power. Each of the channels is equipped with three-band EQ and 100 Hz low-cut filter, making control and adjustment for every channel very easy and convenient. Each model also comes with a seven-band graphic EQ that allows for tuning mains and monitors. Interestingly, the 4 full stereo channels also feature extra stereo return for keyboards, external effects, or stereo playback devices. Both are constructed for total durability; they are built like a tank with a steel chassis. There is a USB I/O port on the side for recording or playback.

Vita Mic Pre-Amps and ReadyFX Engine
Despite the similarities, you have perhaps noticed the slightly different color scheme. While the older Mackie PROFX12 is predominantly black with white text and switches, the newer Mackie PROFX12V2 has put some colors into the looks. Well, most of the text is green, and the control knobs are also grouped by green lines. (See more Mackie product in here)

Nevertheless, Mackie PROFX12V2 indeed offers a huge improvement in design. The model is now virtually noiseless, utilizing Vita Mic pre-amps that are specifically designed for live performance. Featuring a discrete Class-A front-end design, dual feedback stabilization, and bias current optimization, they deliver truly unmatched low-noise performance.

In addition, the new model has switched the effects engine. It now employs the all-new ReadyFX effects engine with floating-point DSP. The quality is excellent; the effects are rich and always ready for intensive, high-quality audio. It is a well-stocked audio toolkit that has been equipped with critical and smart tools, from multi-band graphic equalization to channel inserts and foot-switchable FX mute.
